But kudos for Schmidt and Meghan McCain for creating the space in the Republican party for same-sex marriage advocates. I still might disagree with them on most issues, but their words certainly speak to a younger generation of GOPers that may some day pull the party from the "cold, dead hands" of the radical rightwing.

How The Hell Did We Miss This??

In the never-ending quest to achieve true equality, the gay community has focused on some hotly contested issues.  Marriage.  Civil unions.  Tax-breaks.  Hospital visitation.  Non-descrimination in the workplace.  We've even questioned whether it's fair to have "mother" and "father" on birth certificates.

That's a pretty wide gamut to cover and inevitably there will be some major, but no less important issues to tackle.  Thankfully, one of those has finally been addressed.  That of course being...
