They can't find evidence on the right of racists and violent acts so they have to stage their own. To whit:

Remember the fake noose incidents on college campi?

Remember the PMS-NBC-BS story about "racists" with assault weapons, nevermind said racist was black?

Remember Mike Nifong and the Duke Lacrosse Players?

So when liberals start squealing like Ned Beatty about people on the right being violence prone racists, your best bet is to really look at the ones making the allegations. You'll be smarter for it.

A Comment I'm Particularly Proud Of

Saturday, August 8, 2009

Here's a comment that I posted on a thread about the Tampa Town Hall meeting. It was in response to the usual hysterical liberal comments.

Some thoughts.

A lot of people are happy with Medicare & Medicaid. Both are rife with fraud and overages. Between Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security etc., we are in the red to the tune of $53 BILLION. What's more, neither Medicare nor Medicaid pay 100% of anything. What they don't pay are passed on to people with private insurance or can pay for themselves. Instead of adding a few trillion more in debt, why not reform what we have so it meets our needs?

It's abundantly clear that Obamacare isn't about providing health care. If health care was such a high priority that we need it NOW, why wasn't it addressed in the porkulus bill? How many people could have been helped with that $800 billion? How about the bailouts of the auto companies? That was supposed to prevent them from going bankrupt and they went bankrupt anyway. How many people could have been helped with the money spent on the CARS program? Seems to me that the alleged 47 million without insurance got to take a back seat to Chairman Obama repaying the unions and trial lawyers who spent beau coup cash to get him elected.

If health care is so important, why didn't it just get passed? The libs love to crow that they have all the votes in Congress. What stopped them?

Many have whined and blamed Republicans, but the REALITY is that there are plenty of Democrats in the tea party groups. There's plenty of Democrats opposed to Obamacare. Libs are calling us "racist", but that would have to include the blacks, Hispanics, Asians etc. who are opposed to this. What kind of sense does that make? Either that's the only talking points you know, or you have such a limited worldview and the reality just doesn't fit the template you or somebody else has created.

Libs keep popping off about the insurance companies paying people to oppose Obamacare. Problem is, they just can't provide any evidence or even name the companies involved. One would think that if they were so sure of it, they would be able to do so with ease. Oh and those eeeeeevil "Big Corporations" are the ones who hire, pay and provide health insurance to millions of Americans. Shoot your mouth off about them like the Big Idiot In Chief does and they start laying off people or cutting back on benefits because they want to make sure they can afford the punitive taxes to come.

Many complain about a lack of democracy and people can't get informed. How can you become informed if you're not allowed access by union thugs? I've talked to several people here in the Tampa area who were there. They said there were no problems until people were denied access to what was going on in the conference room. Wouldn't you be pi**ed off if you went to one of these things and were told you weren't allowed to participate? How does one get informed when the meetings are full of union thugs?

Oh and those rich you keep trashing? They're the ones who pay the most taxes. They also provide jobs, salaries, insurance etc. In reality, when you rail about the rich and eeeevil corporations, you're railing against jobs, salaries and insurance.

I could have gone on, but I'm tired.

An Open E-mail to Sen. Bill Nelson (d, FL)

Thursday, August 6, 2009

I sent an e-mail the other day to Sen. Nelson. To be honest, I can't remember right now what the gist was, but it was about oil speculators. As you may know, it can take a bit for a representative to get back to you and I didn't copy my message to him. So here's his reply:

Dear Mr. Schellinger:

Thank you for contacting me about the price of gasoline. The price run-ups in the past few years are inexcusable and intolerable.

To stabilize gas prices, we must rein in unbridled and unregulated speculators. Gas prices fluctuate wildly because speculators, who behave like condo-flippers, are allowed to buy and resell oil contracts. Until we stop that, we'll continue to be gouged at the pump. I recently reintroduced S. 221, which would ban unregulated speculation by oil traders and bring gas prices back down to earth.

Most importantly, we need to break our addiction to foreign oil and switch to alternative fuels.

Thirty years ago, in the wake of gas shortages and long lines at the pump, the President declared the need for the U.S. to become energy independent. Unfortunately, little has been done since. And having only three percent of the world's oil reserves while we consume 33% of the world's oil production means America cannot drill its way out of this crisis.

We must develop alternative fuels--like ethanol-- and make it from things we don't eat. And we need to do it with the same sense of urgency and focus that President Kennedy brought to landing on the moon. Until we've done this, we need to conserve as much oil as possible by raising fuel-efficiency standards for all vehicles and further increasing the production of hybrid cars.

I appreciate your thoughts on this issue. And I will continue to support measures that provide our nation with real alternatives to our reliance on oil.

Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson
To which I replied today:
You said "The price run-ups in the past few years are inexcusable and intolerable. To stabilize gas prices, we must rein in unbridled and unregulated speculators."

However, the CFTC found that the high prices last year were due to Supply & Demand. They also found that "unregulated speculators" were responsible for keeping prices more stable. If "unregulated speculators" were responsible for the high prices, why is oil down to $71.80? Why did it go down?

You also demand higher fuel efficiency standards. Yet the National Academy of Sciences determined that increased CAFE standards contributes an additional 3,200 deaths per year on our roadways.

You also said "Most importantly, we need to break our addiction to foreign oil and switch to alternative fuels."

Indeed. We need to break our addiction to foreign oil which is why we need to drill for our own. That's also why we're moving on with tar sands on BLM property. We need the oil NOW while we come up with realistic, practical and affordable alternative fuels. If we aren't already, we need to chanel the corn ethanol pork to more realistic goals.

What's more, another reality is that the "evil" oil companies have spent more on the federal government on alternative fuels over the last several years. We need to end our State control over private businesses, cut the red tape, cut all the absurd regulations and let them do what the do: supplying the American people with the fuel they need. There's no mandate directing Congress or the White House to run the energy or any other sector of our economy. Therefore you need to get out of the way.

So far as I can tell from your response is that your legislation actually calls for higher gas prices and more American deaths on the highway. Now why do we want that?
I know that he likes to use the left's meme that any opposition to their ideas is pushing for the "status quo". I think Americans would gladly switch to an alternative fuel, but I don't think we're anywhere near having one that's realistic. We shouldn't be castrating ourselves in the meantime either.

I'm a bit tired of this bullshit about having to find a scape goat for high gasoline prices. First it was the oil company execs. Then it was Bush. Then it was OPEC. Then it was Bush, again, for daring to shore up the stockpiles while we're at war. Then it was the speculators etc. etc. etc. It's absurd and it's irresponsible what the Statists are doing: ginning up hatred for things that have nothing to do with the prices. I should have told him that.

Anyways...

Maybe It's Time to Cut Back a Bit?

Saturday, May 30, 2009

Chairman Obama recently learned of one of his intel agencies while grabbing a burger:

In which the president discovers an American intelligence agency at Five Guys
On his trip to get a burger with Brian Williams at Five Guys this afternoon, the President appears to have learned of the existence of a Defense Department intelligence arm, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, from an agency employee also at the burger restaurant.

"So explain to me exactly what this National Geospatial..." Obama said, after the worker mentioned his employer, according to a video of the event.

"We work with, uh, satellite imagery," the worker, Walter replied.
When there are so many government agencies that you have no idea what they all are and what they do, perhaps it's time to cut some of them out. Perhaps this NGA is fairly important, but I can guarandamntee you that there are plenty of other agencies which serve no purpose whatsoever. I mean, other than spending taxpayer money. I'm sure there are many others in this country who are likewise baffled that a US President wouldn't have any idea of what all he's in charge of.

Id-i-ot [id-ee-uht] -noun: See Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski

From the al-Qaeda Times:

Ted Kulongoski, the governor of Oregon, thinks that Americans will need to scale back their consumerism because it is harming the environment.

“There’s a lifestyle issue involved in this, about our penchant for consumerism and consumption,” he said, while discussing his support for a state emissions cap-and-trade scheme during a recent interview in Portland.

Interesting idea. To curb all that consumerism goin' on, I suggest that anybody with plans for business or personal trips to Oregon ought to cancel them. I can see the chamber of commerce and travel board ads now:

"Oregon: We Don't Need Your Stinkin' Money!"

No wonder Oregon's yet another failed state. Maybe Chairman Obama can take over and drive them into bankruptcy.

On Socks And Where To Put Them

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

CNN... uhmm.... "commentator" (?) Jack Cafferty is mad as hell and he's not gonna take it anymore.

It's time for the Republican Party to tell former Vice President Dick Cheney to put a sock in it.

Here we are 100 days into the new administration of Barack Obama, and Darth Vader is still wandering around grumbling about why the new administration is all wrong.

100 days, Jack? We had to listen to Carter, Gore, and both Clintons prattle on for 8 YEARS! Oh... and you can add to that mix of former politicians the Janeane Garofalos, the Alec Baldwins, the Barbara Streisands, the Dixie Chicks(es), and every other liberal Hollywood elitist snob delusional enough to feel as though their opinions on well... anything, really... carried more weight than us common folk.

But I guess since all those I just mentioned were liberals speaking out against a conservative president, it didn't warrant a staunch scolding from Mr. Cafferty.

Back then, dissent was patriotic.

A Thought Occurs....

If the Tax Day Tea Parties had been a top-down operation, as many of the liberals claim, I kinda doubt that they would have been put together as fast as they were. I could be wrong, but that's my sense on it.

Furthermore, I'm fairly certain they wouldn't have taken place in as many small towns as they did. Here in central Florida, for example, I would imagine they would've taken place in Tampa, Orlando and Daytona. Lakeland, maybe. Lithia and Bartow, more than likely not.

So I think that with just a casual glance, one can find that the liberal claim is, as usual, bullshit.
